COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Mission:  Empowering every individual in our community with the knowledge to grow and access fresh, healthy food through our community garden project.  


Who They Serve:   The community garden is established in underserved areas but our garden and programs are open to all, regardless of age, physical abilities, or income.


Services Offered:  Garden Education, Accessibility to fresh produce, Physical-Mental-Spiritual well-being

Additional Notes:  We are an accessible community garden with crushed granite pathways 4ft wide minimum for easy maneuvering of walking devices and/or wheelchairs.  We offer ADA accessible raised garden beds along with 4 other garden beds for children of all ages.  Our garden beds are located under a shade sail for cooler conditions.   All gardening programs are hands-on with 11 planting beds, 2 of which are reserved for our children's program.   We believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of playing in the dirt!

HEALTHCARE

Supporting physical and mental well-being.

Mission:  KidsCare provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and feeding therapy for kids age 0-18 years old in the home, daycare, ABA, or Headstart setting! We make therapy convenient for you and empower your family and child with strategies that allow them to learn and grow in the environment they live in the most! 


Who They Serve:  Kids ages 0-18 years old with a medical or developmental delay diagnosis. We accept all Medicaid insurance, as well as most commercial and Tricare.


In west Texas they serve San Angelo, Midland, and Odessa, as well as Ballinger PT and Brady PT/ST/Feeding. For outlier areas, Tele-Med is an option! 


Services Offered: Physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and feeding therapy.

Additional Notes: Kids are able to receive both ECI and KidsCare or School based therapy and KidsCare at the same time! We love collaborating with others so that your child's team can work together with goals and strategies that help them succeed! 


Mission: The West Texas Rehabilitation Center is a private, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 1953. Our organization works together as an integrated team to provide a wide array of services including outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, audiology, family support services, orthotics and prosthetics, and hospice care. 


Who They Serve:    Adults and children with various diagnoses/conditions. 


Services Offered:   Outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy, audiology, orthotics, prosthetics, family support services, employer services, hospice care, bereavement services and pacesetters fitness programs.  


How to Access Services: To receive services at WTRC, a doctor's referral is needed.

EDUCATION

Fostering knowledge and opportunity.

Mission:  ECI assures that families with young children with developmental delays have the resources and support they need to reach their goals. 


Who They Serve:  ECI is a statewide program serving families with children from birth to 36 months who have developmental delays, or disabilities. It focuses on supporting families as they help their children grow and learn, providing services in the child's natural environment, such as the home or community settings. 


Services Offered:  

  • Evaluation & Assessment  
    • To determine if your child qualifies for ECI services.
  • Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
    • A personalized plan developed with your family to support your child’s development.
  • Family Coaching
    • To help your child learn through everyday routines, provided through:
      • Specialized Skills Training (SST)
      • Therapies: Speech (ST), Occupational (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT)
  • Case Management
    • To connect your family with community resources, services, and ongoing support.
